Event Information

LATEST NEWS: We are very happy to announce that our organiser Elaine Micklewright has been awarded a British Empire Medal in the Queens 90th birthday honours list – for more information please click here.

By-Gone Days was held on the first weekend in August from 1991 – 2015.  Over 25 years the event raised almost £300,000 for local charities.  Sadly 2015 was the last By-Gone Days but we will update this site with information on other related local events.

The event included displays and entertainment from many local groups including:

The three main charities supported by By-Gone Days were the Salisbury Hospice, the Alzheimer’s Society and Royal British Legion Women’s Section.

    Hello,
Firstly, I’d just like to congratulate you on running a truly great event – well done!
I would also like a bit of help if possible. We are organising a one-off memorial weekend for RAF Warmwell on the last weekend of August, and hope to have a number of vintage vehicles at the event. However we are after one in particular, namely a ‘Fordson’ tractor that was used by the RAF for towing bomb trailers and aircraft during the war.
Do you know of any owners of such a vehicle who might like to attend? If so I would be very grateful if you could pass on my contact details and ask them to get in touch…
    Thanks!

I have attended for some years and have found that By-Gone Days is a most unusual event with so much to see and so much going on in such a small space. Brilliant.

We have just got back from our first visit to Bygone Days, what a great event and topped off by the very worthwhile wait for the Spitfire display, Very special even for people like us that do not hail from that very different and unique era. Thank you all, we are glad to have discovered your event on our doorstep.

What a great show Bygone Days was. I was happy to have gotten myself a computer, Dell Dimension 3100 up there. If you could find another one, with computers, that’d be much appreciated! R.I.P, 1991-2015!😦

Such a shame that no one has taken up the gauntlet of running this superb show – is there any interest in reviving it? Is there a group or association that needs a helping hand to get it back again, let me know – happy to pitch in!

So sad to hear there won’t be a 2016 By-Gone celebration! We have visited you for the past 6years. So disappointed. What’s on instead please. What do you recommend. We are coming down with our dogs again. This year we will be lost on 30th July. . Thank you. Helen and Michael Hutchings.
